Harlen Winter has been training dogs for the public during the past
forty six years. A small number have been obedience, but the majority
were hunting dogs. The breeds enrolled in his training program have been
about equally divided between retrievers and pointing breeds.
He has used the same approach to dog training through almost half a
century, which is if he doesn’t have time to personally train your dog
then he doesn’t enroll it. Many of his canine students have gone on to
win field trials and hunt tests when their owners have taken the time to
polish their pups in the quest for perfection.

Harlen realized many years ago
that in order to be a successful trainer and get the owners and their
dogs working together as a well-oiled team, he would have to teach each
owner what his or her dog had learned. That is why week after week,
month after month, throughout his training career, all of his weekends
have been utilized to bring dogs and people to the same level of
understanding. Harlen has trained over twenty eight hundred dogs during
the past forty six years. His motto through the years has been “If I
take your dog, I can train it.” |
